Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all hire agreements, bookings, and transactions between Ora Events (“we”, “us”, or “our”) and you, the client (“you” or “your”). By making a booking or paying a deposit, you agree to be bound by these Terms in full.
Ora Events is a Melbourne based luxury event furniture hire, styling, and décor business operating across Melbourne and greater Victoria, Australia.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The version published on our website at the time of your booking applies.

2. Bookings & Confirmation

A booking is only confirmed once we have received:

 

  • A completed booking enquiry or hire agreement signed by you
  • Payment of the required deposit (as outlined in clause 4)

 

Verbal or email enquiries do not constitute a confirmed booking. Availability cannot be guaranteed until a deposit is received.

Ora Events reserves the right to decline any booking at our discretion.

3. Hire Period

Standard hire periods cover a single event or a single day. The hire period commences at the agreed delivery time and concludes at the agreed collection time.

Extended hire periods are available on request and will be quoted separately in writing. Additional charges apply for extended periods.

Items must be available for collection at the agreed time and location. Late returns may incur additional daily hire charges.

4. Deposits & Payment

  • A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total hire fee is required to confirm your booking.
  • The remaining balance is due 14 days prior to the event date unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • For bookings made within 14 days of the event, full payment is required at the time of booking.
  • All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) and inclusive of GST unless otherwise stated.
  • Payment methods accepted: bank transfer, credit card, and other methods as advised at the time of booking.

Failure to pay the outstanding balance by the due date may result in cancellation of your booking and forfeiture of the deposit.

5. Cancellations & Changes

  • All cancellation requests must be made in writing to sales@oraevents.com.au.

    Cancellation policy:

    • Cancellations made 30 or more days before the event: deposit is forfeited; no further charges apply.
    • Cancellations made 15–29 days before the event: 75% of the total hire fee is charged.
    • Cancellations made 14 days or fewer before the event: 100% of the total hire fee is charged.

    Changes to booking dates, items, or quantities are subject to availability and must be requested in writing. Changes within 14 days of the event cannot be guaranteed and are at our sole discretion.

    Ora Events is not liable for any losses incurred by the client as a result of a booking change or cancellation.

6. Delivery, Setup & Collection

  • Delivery, setup, and collection services are available across Melbourne and greater Victoria. Delivery fees are calculated based on venue location, order size, and access requirements, and will be quoted at the time of booking.

    You are responsible for ensuring:

    • Safe and clear access to the venue for delivery and collection
    • A designated point of contact is available at the venue on the day of delivery and collection
    • All items are accessible and ready for collection at the agreed time

    Ora Events will not be liable for delays caused by restricted venue access, incorrect venue information provided by the client, or circumstances beyond our control.

7. Care of Hire Items

  • Hire items remain the property of Ora Events at all times. You are responsible for the care and safekeeping of all hire items from the time of delivery until collection.

    You must not:

    • Sublet, lend, or transfer hire items to any third party
    • Modify, paint, drill into, or permanently alter any hire item
    • Use hire items in a manner inconsistent with their intended purpose

    Items must be returned in the same condition as delivered, allowing for reasonable wear. Items must not be exposed to excessive heat, open flame, water damage, or harsh weather conditions unless expressly permitted by us in writing.

8. Damage, Loss & Replacement

  • You accept full financial responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage to hire items during the hire period. This includes damage caused by your guests, venue staff, or any third party present at your event.

    Damage charges are assessed at our discretion and may include:

    • Cost of repair or professional cleaning
    • Full replacement cost if an item is damaged beyond repair or not returned
    • An administration fee of $50 per item for processing damage or loss claims

    We recommend you photograph all hired items upon delivery and contact us immediately if any discrepancies or pre-existing damage are identified.

    A security bond may be required for certain items or orders over a specified value. Bond details will be communicated at the time of booking. Bonds are refunded within 5 business days of collection, less any applicable damage or loss charges.

9. Styling & Setup Services

  • Where styling or setup services are included in your booking, we will execute the agreed setup plan to the best of our ability. Minor variations may occur based on venue constraints, item availability, or circumstances beyond our control.

    Ora Events is not responsible for differences in colour, texture, or appearance between product photography and the physical items, as variations may occur due to lighting, screen calibration, and batch production.

    Any changes to the agreed styling plan on the day of the event are subject to our availability and may incur additional charges.

10. Force Majeure

  • Ora Events will not be in breach of these Terms or liable to you for any delay or failure to perform our obligations if that delay or failure arises from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to fire, flood, severe weather, pandemic, government restrictions, venue closure, or other acts of God.

    In such circumstances, we will notify you as soon as practicable. We will offer to reschedule your booking where possible. If rescheduling is not possible, we will refund payments received less any costs already incurred.

11. Limitation of Liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ora Events’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your hire agreement is limited to the total fees paid by you for the specific hire order to which the claim relates.

    Ora Events is not liable for any indirect, consequential, special, or incidental loss or damage, including loss of enjoyment, loss of revenue, or reputational damage.

    Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any liability that cannot be excluded by law under the Australian Consumer Law.

12. Australian Consumer Law

  • Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have services repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

13. Privacy

  • Ora Events collects and handles your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and our Privacy Policy, available at oraevents.com.au/privacy-policy.

    We use your personal information to process your booking, communicate with you, and deliver our services. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties except as required to provide our services or as required by law.

14. Photographs & Marketing

  • Ora Events may photograph hire items and styled setups at your event for use in our marketing materials, website, and social media channels. We will not identify you or your event by name without your consent. If you do not consent to photography, please notify us in writing prior to the event.

15. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
